So we did it.. Me and my partner have visited the most popular location in Tatra mountains. Morskie Oko - The eye of the sea. It's one of the most beautiful picturesque mountain lakes in the world. It was on a list of locations I wanted to photograph, so it needed to be done. A lot of people visit the lake daily, so to avoid having to push through the crowds to get a decent view, we decided to go at sunrise. It was a difficult decision to make as the closest car park is about 1h30min drive from home and another 2h hike from the car park. This meant that we had to be on our way at 2am! This trip took a little bit more planning and preparation but was well worth it! Surprisingly, there was other people hiking at this time too.. Being able to evidence first light on these mountains was something not many photographers get to experience, it was very special. I can't imagine photographing this location at different time, simply because of the number of people that visit, on our way back down we have seen hundreds if not thousands of people making their way to the top.
Apart from spending the day enjoying these beautiful views, I have also finished building the hide and almost finished the whole garden setup for photographing wildlife. I have also hiked to a viewpoint on mountain called Wysoki Wierch ('Tall Peak'), to photograph a panorama of the mountains, unfortunately the visibility wasn't great and you can only just barely see the mountain range in the background.
Here's some more images of us enjoying the amazing outdoors this week:
